Notes: Arguably one of the best tracks to appear in a flash, “Black Rose / Green Sun” marked the first time we actually meet Grimdark Rose in all her capacity as well as the death scene of Mom Lalonde and Dad Egbert. It also acts as huge foreshadowing in terms of Rose’s death and the Green Sun.

Haunting with the light notes at the beginning and then violins are brought in (significant of Rose’s character) and then the dull bass added on top of the chorus on voices with an electronic mix to it bring it away from the simple and pure opening into something pounding and driving. It is an incredibly well-done piece and well deserving of attention.

“Black Rose / Green Sun” appears remixed by Toby Radiation Fox in Cascade’s fourth track “Black Hole / Green Sun” a bonus track available with the purchase of Volume 8.
